On one of my blogs I love to follow, I found a fellow crafty person who came up with an idea to use strips of paper on a card. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!! I, like most, keep every scrap of paper. I even organized my scraps...my BFF likes to say I organized my "trash". LOL. I came up with 2 cards using some coordinate paper. I really like how these 2 cards came out.
First Card: Heart Felt Thanks
RECIPE:
*Gypsy Wild Card Cartride, Phrase (shift) <3 Felt Thanks cut at 2.71"w x 1.75"h *Stickles Lavender *Black Ribbon *Zots 3D Clear Adhesive Dots *Black Ink (to ink up the edges)
Second Card: Happy Birthday
RECIPE:
*Gypsy Stamping Cartridge "Happy Birthday"
*Blue Ink Pad, I cut the phrase out in white paper to make it pop on the strips of paper. I used my ink pad to give it more depth than being STARK white
*Ribbon
*Xyron 1.5" Create-a-Sticker
I hope you enjoy these cards and get your craft on!

Sunny Summer
Now that school's starting back up soon, I wanted to share the goodie bags I made for Sean's last day of school. (better late than never?!?) I think they are so stinking cute!! I was inspired by My Pink Stamper, she's always making treat bags for her kids and I wanted to do the same for my Seany Boy. I asked him to help me design the bags, so he came up with the saying..."Hope your Summer is very Sunny!" and he wanted a sun with sunglasses. SOOOOO here is what I came up with for him.
RECIPE:
*Gypsy Smiley Card Cartridge
*Best Occasions Glitter Paper Pack Yellow/Orange for the outside of sun
*Best Occasions Metallic Paper Pack Black for the sunglasses
*Various Paper Scraps for the back ground (bright, bold colors)
*Xyron 1.5" Create-a-Sticker
*Zots 3D Clear Adhesive Dots
*Creative Memories Precision Point Adhesive Pen
I cut the sun and sun rays at 2.63"w x 2.50"h
Sunglasses were cut at 2.21"w x 2.64"h
In order to make the sunglasses I had to do a lot of hiding of cuts and switching things around. The hid feature is my favorite thing about the Gypsy...it's endless as to what you can create. I first hid the cut on the sun and added the snowman's face into the middle of the sun. I hid everything on the snowman, this way the sunglasses and mouth will cut on the sun so I knew where to place black metallic paper sunglasses and mouth. It sounds like a lot of work but once you get the hang of the hide feature, you can personalize and change up lots of stuff with your cartridges.
In order to assemble the suns, I first used the Xyron for the sunglasses and mouth, it made my life sooooo much easier. I attached them to all the sun base. Then I used my Creative Memories Precision Point Adhesive for the outer sun rays...it was too big to go through my Xyron, so I used my next best friend and invention...my glue pen. This pen is great to use and so easy. It's like using a pen; just squeeze the glue out at your desired flow and amount. VIOLA! Lastly, I attached all the suns using my Zots 3D dots to the cards in order to make the sun POP off the cards.
I hope you have a Sunny Summer and enjoyed our little goodbye treat bags my son and I created.
Keep on craftin' and smilin'...

Father's Day Card
So better late than never!!! Here is the card I made for Ted from the boys for Father's Day. I used my new Expression2 Anniversary Edition Cricut to make the card. On this Cricut it's loaded with 4 cartridges, one of them being "Cricut Decals". I used page 52 Pairs 1 for the king. I used googlie eyes to make it even cutier.
I used my cuttlebug "spots and dots" folder for the background as well as some ribbon I have had for years. I found it in the dollar section (you know you stop and look there) at Target when they first started selling scrapbooking/craft supplies. It was just enough for one card.
Ted really enjoyed the card and kept it out on display for several weeks.
Have a crafty Day!!

It's a Girl...
I am really getting into making my own cards. I have been inspired by several blogs and people I have met. I went to a baby shower on Friday and I made this card with a gift card inside.
Recipe:
Baby Face: Doodlecharms
Paper: Provo Craft Doodlecharms "It's A"
Paper: The Paper Studio The Basics Pink back ground and "Girl"
Paper: Best Occasions Glitter Paper Pack pink bow & flowers
Stickles: Cotton Candy
Gems: Darice Super Sparkley Stickers
Dolly Lace Edge Punch: Martha Stewart
TIP: I used my gypsy to cut "It's A" by using "It's A Party" from the Celebrations Cartridge and brought the image all the way to the bottom so it didn't cut "Party"
This was a super easy card once I figured out the paper to use.
Hope you enjoy the card.
Have a crafty day!!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Entry
I HEART Robyn a.k.a My Pink Stamper and she is ready for a Design Team to serve August-December. I am going on my scrapbooking weekend to Tucson with my crafty friends, including my BFF Terri!! Terri and I were shopping for our big getaway when I got Robyn's first phone call from her first ever Q&A "My Pink Stamper Live with Karlee! on June 25, 2011. I WAS SHOCKED to say the least. She helped me with my question about trying to step out of the box with my pages. So I went to the library the next day and check out 3 books on layouts. While we were shopping at Hobby Lobby, I found this C*U*T*E paper and stickers that coordinate lovely with it. I got them to do a 12x12 page of my little angel Ryan Arthur and our dog Rocky. These photos were taken while we were staying at my parents house while I was recovering from a fall which I fractured my C4 vertebrae in early 2010. I was unable to care for my youngest so they offered to babysit us all while my hubby and oldest son stayed at home continuing to go to work and school. During this stay at my parents Ryan decided to "snuggle cuddle" (as we call it) with Rocky. Luckily I had my cell phone and captured the moment (heavily drugged and all). I haven't been able to scrapbook since 2009, so needless to say this upcoming scrapbooking weekend/getaway is going to be fun but B*U*S*Y!!! I ordered my 300+ pictures and I am ready to roll. My crafty mojo is back...so watch out.
Here is the Challenge: Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......
Orange
Turquoise
Green
Brown
Other optional color of your choice
RECIPE:
*1- 12x12 My Mind's Eye "Check Him Out" paper
*1- 8.5x11 Paper Studio "Surfer Boy Orange Texture"
*1- 8.5x11 Paper Studio "Surfer Boy Blue Texture"
*1- 8.5x11 Paper Studio "Texture 2 Lime Green"
*1- BoBunny Stickers "I Love My Dog"
*Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inkpad "Chestnut Roan"
*Xyron adheasive for title
*Gypsy
*Cricut Cartridge Don Juan Font
-top layer: 3.67"w x 1.42"h
-shadow: 3.72"w x 1.48"h
-& sign: 0.81"w x 1.42"h
*Layout idea inspired by "Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking with Your Kids" page 129
After I cut out the title in an off white/cream color paper I wanted to give it some texture so I used my chalk by dabbing it all over the top. I am liking the look of this...so much more life to boring cream. (STEPPING OUTSIDE MY BOX!!!)
Another trick I like do is when I only have one sheet of paper I love and I'd like to incorporate it onto the page; I cut out a section of the middle and cover it up with pictures or paper. I used the cut out section for the journal box, & sign and sticker background.
I hope you enjoy this page!! Have a crafty AMAZING day!!
Cindy :)~
